THE CHRISTMAS DREAM. The night is o’erveiling the brow of day The snow birds in their bough-cribs sway; Wile each blue eye more slowly blinks As the baby into dreamland sinks. Visions of angel's gleaming on high, In the glowing dome of the ruptured sky. Joyously chanted over again Tlie song of 1 ‘Peace, Good Mill to Men!” The star, on wondrous mission sent, Traversed the luminous firmament ; In .splendour coursed its shining way Till it stood o’er tlie shed where the Infant lav. Swiftly tlie holy angel sped; Adoring, poised o’er that manger bed ; When lo! the Christ Cliild undefiled Smiled', in love, on tlie little child 1 !, —Amelia Robbins.
