[united press association COPYRIGHT] (Received Dec. 30, 12.20 a.m.) NANKING, Dec. 29. The revolutionary convention has urt'animously elected Dr. Sun Yet Sen President of the Republic. REPUBLICANS SUCCESSFUL IN CHINA. PEKING, Dec. 28. The Dowager Empress, Manchu princes and Yuan Shift,Kai have decided to accept a JLresh conference on a Avider basis than that at Shanghai and abide by its decisions. This is interpreted to mean that the Crown is Avilling to abdicate. LONDON, Dec. 28. The Daily Telegraph’s Shanghai correspondent reports that revolutionaries lured Prince Min, a very Avealthy man, formerly Crown Prince of Korea, from a hotel in the French concession, and compelled him to sign a big cheque for the revolutionary fund. NO OPPOSITION TO REPUBLIC. TOKIO, Dec. 28. The Emperor, at the opening of the Diet, emphasised Japan’s friendliness toAvards the Powers. The Cabinet decided not to place any obstacles in the way of the formation of a Chinese Republic if the conference insists on that step.
