The position is extremely interesting, on the assumption Hat Hicks can at most secure a draw with Miles, the latter being the exchange of a pawn to the good, then, if Gyles beats Grierson he plays off, with- Mason for the championship. If Grierson beats Gyles he wins l the championship, and if Grierson draws with Gyles the former plays off with Mason for the championship.
