South Australian. delegates were unable to attend owing to the pending elections. Mr Earle, leader of the Tasmanian Laborites, was elected chairman, Mr Fisher desiring a free hand in discussing the agenda paper, which includes a number- of speculative and daring proposals. Mr Fisher, in a speech of public welcome to the delegates, said that the intelligent youth of Australia was looking to the Labor movement for political and economic emancipation.
