JN PROVIDING GUBERNATORIAL RESIDENCE. [united press association —COPYRIGHT] SYDNEY, Jan. 9. In reply to expressions of general regret at the Government’s action in withdrawing the vice-regal residence 'from Federal use, Mr Holman states that the business of maintaining the dignity of the Governor-General and providing possible hospitality for august visitors is that of the Commonwealth. It was not the- State’s duty to supplement the omissions of the Federal management.
