At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Association a profit was reported on the recent Australasian championships of £212. It was decided to discontinue the practice of giving caps and badges to athletes reaching the standard, and. to present a certificate instead. In distances under 440yds only the winner of a heat or a final is eligible. The mover of the resolution said that caps and badges were no longer valued. They were in fact quite out of date.
