BUILDINGS IN GISBORNE.
YEAR’S INCREASE OE £17,500. The Building Inspector (Mr. R. O. Sheet), reported to the Borough Council last evening, on the report, and on the building progress of Gisborne, as follows : For tlie quarter ending 31st December, 1911, 50 permits were issued, as tinder:—
The building fees collected amounted to £64 10s. For the corresponding period of 1910, 37 permits were issued for various works of the value of £19,281 10s. The 12 months ending 31st December, 1911, showed a considerable increase on the previous year. For 1911 the total value was £72,887, the increase being £17,543. In 1930 permits were issued for 129 dwellings, value £54,001, and in 1911 for 142 dwellings, value £58,583. The buildings generally were beiim erected in a sound manner, and worked, up to the By-law.
