WHY HANSARD CHIEF WAS SUSPENDED. INQUIRY INTO SPEAKER'S ACTION. [united press association —copyright-! (Received Jan. 12. 10-30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jam 12. A large mass of correspondence was submitted to the Royal Commission inquiry into the dispute between the Speaker of the House (Mr Willis) and Mi Robinson (head of the Hansard staff,. In the course of a lengthy statein jiit Mr Willis said that Mr Robinson had been in the habit of controlling previous speakers, and members object eo to him exercising authority over the Speaker. He said Mr Robinsons suspension rested upon his insubordination ;n not. carrying out. instructions, and in writing letters derogatory, belittling and disrespectful to the head of his Department. Mr Robinson read a long reply, claiming that he had not flouted the Speaker and had implicitly obeyed all his instructions. 'Pile Commission has adjourned.
