PERSONAL NOTES.
Mr and Mrs W. D. Lysuar and Mr J. C. Field left for Wellington by the Mokoia yesterday. Mr Lysuar and Mr Field will attend a meeting of the New Zealand Producers’ Association there to-morrow.. Mr J. Rutherford, of the local Telegraph Office, has been transferred to Wellington and left_ for the south yesterday to take up bis new duties. His place' will be filled by Mr Goer, of Marti nborough (Wairarapn) who will arrive im Wednesday. I)r. Wilson left for Napier yesterday. Mr Thomas Morgan, who is to act ias judge of the Christchurch band contest which opens there this week, is a Welshman. 35 years .of age. He has been connected * with music and bands since bovhood. At fourteen lie was the principal solo cornetist of his town band, and at sixteen he gained the gold modal of the National Eisteddfod of Wales. He is a licentiate of the Royal Acadeinv of Music, and has been desert! eel : :s one of the ablest, though voungest of band judges. Mr Morgan, is fresh from the Ballarat Band Contest.
