What is perhaps the largest'bird ever seen at the London Zoological Gardens (with the exception of those non-flying species, such as tlio emu and ostrich*) has been placed in the eagles’ cages. The bird is a lammergeyer (lanib-vul-ture), or .bearded vulture, which has just arrived from India- The lainmergeyer is the largest of all the eagles and vultures, and the specimen at the “Zoo” is fortunately full grown, though it has not yet assumed the white headdress of feathers which is the badge ot the adult bird.
