Wheat is quoted at 3s B,jd; flour £8 10s ; oats (Algerian feeding) 3s 3d, 3s 2d; (seeding) 3s 4d, 3s 6d; barley (Cape) 3s 9d, 4s; maize 4s 3d; bran £5 10s; pollard £5 15s; potatoes to £5 15s; onions £6 8s lOd.

INVERCARGILL WOOL SALE. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.:] INVERCARGILL, Jan. 26. Die first wool sale of the season here to-clay was Largely attended. Prices compared well with those ruling in northern centres, and were well maintained, and in many- instances growers obtained more than they expected- Compared with the last Dunedin sale today’s sale was entirely satisfactory. England, America, France, Germany, and" New Zealand were represented by buyers. Messrs. Ross and Glendining, Dunedin.' were directly represented for the first time at an Invercargill sale. Of the 15,200 bales offered, a record for Southland, very few were passed in and most of these were subsequently disposed of. Competition was animated, and there was no sign of dragging throughout the day, American buyers competing ‘keenly. Well-bred and conditioned hogget wool was most in demand. and ranged filoan- lCkl to 1 I^a. Pieces were also strongly competed xor, and realised as much as 9§d. Top price of sale was 12d for 3 bales of hag-bred, sold on Hocount of Donald McKenzie,
