TROOPS TO BE IN READINESS

The “Daily Chronicle” states that three regiments of infantry and two of cavalry have been ordered to hold themselves in readiness to proceed to Belfast. INTENSE FEELING AROUSED. LORD LONDONDERRY WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. (Received Jan 28, 5.5 p.m-) LONDON, Jan. 27. Lord- Londonderry, replying to Mr. Churchill’s letter, said the- main objections of the Ulster Unionists bad been removed, therefore he deprecated any interference against holding Mr. Churchill’s meeting elsewhere', but said he wouldi not accept the responsibility of the visit, owing to the intense- feeling aroused.
