CITY MARRIAGE BUREAU.

“CLEARING HOUSE FOR LONELY SOULS.” Tlie city of Des Moines, Indiana, has opened a municipal marriage bureau. Air. Edward C. Lytton, the Alayor’s secretary, has been appointed general manager of the bureau, which is described as a “clearing house for lonely souls.” The advisory board consists of Dr. H. L. Saylor, city physician; the mayor, Air. Hanna; Mr. Horace Susong, cit yclerk, an<i Air. Lytton. Women wanting husbands will be requested 1 by Air. Lytton to send to him their names,. addresses, and photographs. He will keep a classified “waiting list” from which make recommendations to yife-seeking applicants. It has been decided to divide the “waiting list” into thro eclasses. Class A will contain the names of women between eighteen and 1 twenty-five years of age. Class B ranges from lAveirfcy-five to thirty-five, and Class C from thirtvfive upward. Alen in search of wives will be required to designate, the class within which their own age falls. The mayor has agreed to marry free of charge all couples matched through the aid of the municipal bureau.
