TE AROHA WINS SHIELD
[per press association.,] HAMILTON, Jan. 31. The South Auckland Bowling Association’s third day’s play came off in brililant weather. Semi-finals: Whitiora No. 3 (McKinnon, skip) 22 defeated Rotorua No. 1 (MrFarlane, skip) 19; Te Kuiti No. 1 (Power) 20, beat Whitiora No. 1 (Mitchell) 18; Waihi No. I (Noonan) 19 beat Te Kuiti No. 1 (Power) 16; Te Aroha No. 1 (Kalton) 21 beat Whitiora No. 3 (McKinnon) 20. Final: Te Aroha No. 1 21 defeated Waihi No. 1 19. Te _ Aroha has thus won the pennant shield and 1 medals four times. At the conference Te Aroha was awarded next year’s tournament.
