The directors of the Kaiapoi Woollen Manufacturing Company have declared u dividend of three percent, on ordinary and preference snares for the half year ending January 31, which will he pc;, able on March 2. NAPIER WOOL SALES. [per press association.] NAPIER, Feb. 15. The third and last wool sale for this year took place in Napier to-day, when the combined catalogue of brokers numbered about 3SOO bales. The benches were fully occupied bv oversea and Dominion buyers. Bidding was spirited throughout the afternoon, and there was a good clearance of the catalogue under the hammer. According to expectations, the wool offered was mostly from the back country, and was therefore dingy generally, and lacking that bright and clean condition which characterised the wool sub. mitted at the previous sales. Consequently the prices realised were on ei lower level, but, taking quality and condition into consideration, prices bore favorable comparison. Several nice clean clips wore offered, and' these reached figures quite equal to last sales, although in some instances there was a drop of about Id per lb. Pieces, bellies, and locks sold fully up to last sales’ rates, and taking the sale as a whole the. results for growers were better than was anticipated- The average prices were as follows: —Half-bred 9d, fine crossbred 9d to 93d, medium crossbred 8d to Bkl, coarse crossbred 7d to 73d. lambs Scl to 10',d, first pieces 6'd to 73d, second pieces 43d to 6d, bellies ojd to 63d, crutchiiiigs 5d to 53d. locks 3d to 4Jd.
