CRICKET.

POVERTY RAY ASSOCIATION.

The Poverty Bay Cricket Association met last evening. Present: Messrs Gatland (in the chair), Harvey, Allen, Lange, Whiteby, »Walker, Redgrave, Crannev, Golding, Guthrie and McLisky {secretary.) _ Mr Walker tendered his resignation as treasurer, and Mr Allen was appointed to the position. An application from the Y.M.C.AClub to withdraw their junior team from the junior competition was grunted. _ It Was decided to postpone the VVan-derers-United match until the end or the season. It was decided that- an A and B senior representative match would be played at the Domain on Saturday at 2.15 p.m. The following matches were arranged for the week: —•_ Thursday competition. —Alhambra v. United A. (concrete), Y.M.C.A. v. United B (turf); school competition, Mangapapa y. Te Hapara (No. 1 asphalt), , Kaiti v. Gisborne (No. 2 asphalt)Saturday : Junior, Alhambra v. Y.M.C.A. (No. 2 asphalt), High School Bv. High School'A (turf), Wanderers v. Matawhero; (bio. 1 asphalt). THE COAST TRIP. The following team, representing the Poverty Bay Cricket Association, will leave by the s.s. Monowai to-morrow morning for Tokomaru, to play a series of matches on the Coast: —-G. Cranney, W. Gibson, J. H. Jones, W. G: Law, J. P. McLisky, S. McConnell, L. McMahon, W. MacDonald, W. J. Scholium, P. Sheridan and F. Walker. The team will piny Mr K- S. Williams’ eleven at Mataheia on Thursday, Tokomaru on Friday, and a combined Coast team at Tokomaru on Saturday, returning home by steamer on Sunday. A meeting of the team will be held at the Boom Cycle Company’s office, Lowe Street, at 7.30 o’clock this evening to make final arrangements for the trip.
