A deputation of cricket enthusiasts asked Mr McGowen (Premier) to mediate between the Board of Control and the dissatisfied players. _ The Premier commissioned the deputation to inform both parties that he was willing to do any thing possible to secure a settlement of the dispute. Up to a late hour to-night none of the players had forwarded acceptances. The time-closes at midnight, but if the acceptances come to hand by to-mor-row morning's p- so tliey will be received.
