EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCES. AIR HINDMARSH CREATES A SENSATION. The evening sitting turned out to bo one of the most extraordinary experiences in the Parliament for many years. Air Payne’s announcement of the breaking of his election pledges roused Air Harris, of Waitemata, to one or the most pitiless deunciations ever given utterance to in the House. Mr. Payne sat pale and silent, and the House listened with rapt attention to the outpouring of the scorn of the member for Waitemata. ' x , Mr Payne made an attempt to further explain his position, but failed to arouse any enthusiasm. 1 hen followed Air- Hindmarsh, the Socialist Labor member, who defeated' Mr. Wright in Wellington South in the second ballot.
