AMERICAN MINING HORROR.
SIX BODIES RECOVERED. FORTY MEN STILL ENTOMBED. [united press association—copyright] (Received Feb. 25. 5-5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Feb. 23A fire broke out in the Western Coal Company’s mine at Colgate, Oklokama. Eighty men were cut off, but many dasliecl to safety, escaping in the nick of time. Six dead bodies were recovered. It- is believed that forty are still entombed. The rescuers are active, but it is not believed that- there is much hope. ALL RECOVERED EXCEPT NINEMINE BEING FLOODED. (Received Feb. 25. 12.2-5 a.m.) OKLAHOMA, Feb. 25. All excepting nine have been rescued from tlie Western Coal Company’s mme. Eight bodies have been recovered- The mine is being flooded to extinguish the fire. It is not believed that- any miners are left alive.
