During the afternoon’s storm 1.50 iches of rain fel 1 . accompanied by a yclonic wind anc ivere lightning. Alany boats wer apsized in the haror. There were fatalities. Lightning stru St. Matthew’s Church, Paddingto and fired the roof. ]he brigade extim shed the tire. The tower of St. rands Convent- was struck by lightnin . but the damage was slight.
