Hurley, a Wellington delegate , moved that the New Zealand Championship shield as far as possible be held only in the four principal cities alternately' in the North and 'South Islands. Berry (Otago) seconded. Mr H. The amendment was seconded by Mr O. W. Parsons (Canterbury), but the chairman ruled it was not aamissable Much discussion ensued on the ruling. A motion that the meeting disagree with the ruling was lost. Mr Hurley moved that the meeting be adjourned for five weeks, and a special meeting of the Council be held at the time to consider Mr Brown's resolution. This was carried. A motion that a North Island and South Island singles championship for ladies and gentlemen be established, at a cost of not exceeding 20 guineas, was held over • till the' adjourned meeting. An application by the Hawke’s Bay Association for the 1912 meeting was held over.
