A Japanese Commission, under General .Oshima, for studying European methods of colonisation, has, says Reuter, arrived at Naples. On the average Great Britain yields 30 bushels of wheat to the acre; New South Wales, 15; the United States, 12, and Russia eight. Some tobacco is made in Australia. The “Royal Standard” is made right on the plantations in Virginia, with the pick of the crop at the disposal of the makers.*
