RATHE PICTURES. Tbs final production 'of the current programme of Patbe Pictures will be made this evening. The various items comprising the programme include many of singular merit, the most noteworthy of which is perhaps “The Senorita’s Conquest, ’ ’ a drama illustrative of how a Mexican girl of great daring outwits a band of .brigands in saving the life of a sheriff with whom she is in love. The dramas also include “Manon Liscount” a potent story of Continental type, and “The Mill,” the latter being beautifully colored. “The Matchmaker” is a delightful comedy brimful of mirth, while “A Comedy of Misunderstanding” evokes unending laughter. “BEAUTY AND THE BARGE,” Theatregoers of Gisborne will welcome the announcement of a visit from Mr Allan Hamilton’s Dramatic Company next week. Arrangements have been completed for a three-night’s season at His Majesty’s Theatre, com mencing on Monday The opening production will be W. W. Jacob’s delightful farce in three acts entitled “Beauty and th e Barge,” and this will be followed on Tuesday evening by "Walter Howard’s sensational drama of Indian life entitled “Why Men Love Women.” The season will commence on Wednesday ■■evening ruth a brilliant revival of the popular comedy drama “A Message from Mars.” Mr Hamilton has organised a very strong company to interpret these fine plays, and in addition to several old favorites a number of new performers will ' make their first appearance. The com- ' brriation includes Messrs Charlie Brown, Kenneth Brampton, Robert Greig, Wdton Witch, Hilliard Vox, Richard Billairs, John Eordi, Stuart i Clyde, John Bruce, Misses Beatrice Holloway, Lillian Lloyd, Muriel Dale, Katie Towers and Agnes Keogh. For each of the productions entirely new scenery from the brush of Harry Whaite will be used, and the mechanical effects and wardrobe are said to be of a most elaborate ‘nature. In all, <;lose upon 70 tons of scenery and effects are carried. The box plans for the season will be opened at Mr W. 1 Miller’s on Thursday morning.
