An accident possessing some sensational features occurred at .Spningmont, about three miles fi-o'm Creswick, the other Sunday evening. A little lower down the hill a young man named Michael O’Brien, a well-known footballer, was standing on the roadside. Mrs Mason seized' the opportunity and threw the child to O’Brien, who rushed forward and neatly caught tlie infant. In about another 100 yards .the vehi6le reached a '■sharp turn at the root of the hill and capsized, the two occupants being thrown out. The injured persons were speedily removed to the Creswick hospital. .Dr. Wilson found that Mr Mason had sustained a dislocated shoulder, Mrs Mason a broken colar bone, and Miss Mason, who is about sixteen, concussion of the brain.
