GISBORNE TIMES OFFICE. The following are the readings of the barometer in our office, taken at 2 a.m. each day:—
GOVERNMENT METEOROLOGIST'S REPORT. [pee peess association.] WELLINGTON. March 11 The barometer rose fast in the South on Saturday and' Sunday and westerly winds veered to strong southerly with rain and colder weather generally. Thunderstorms occurred along the East Oast on Sunday morning, but m general fair weather is reported to-day. Present indications are for southeasterly breezes veering easterly northwards of New Plymouth and Napier and variable winds changing to increasing norther]ies elsewhere. Changeable fair to cloudy weather is probable generally with a falling barometer everywhere shortly.
