Canterbury is at old; other than Canterbury. sd; Australian. 4 kl; River Plate, 4fd. .Beef: The market is dull. New Zealand is not quoted, none being offered m the market. Butter; The market is lifeless. There, is only a small demand. Buyers are cautions. The average price for the week for choicest New Zealand is 1275; Australian, 1235; Argentine, 1225; Danish, 1365; Siberian,. 1265. Cheese: The market is firm. There are small supplies on hand. New Zealand white is at 73$ 6d. colored 735. Hemp : The market is quiet hut steady, with no change in prices. New Zealand, on spot, good to fair, £2l Ids; fair grade, £2O. 10$; fair current Manila, £2l 10s; forward shipment New Zealand, good to fair, £2l 10s; fair grade, £2O 10s; fair current Manila, £22. The output from Ala nil a for the week was 30,000 bales. The stock of New Zealand hemp was 301 tons. Wool: The second series of colonial wool sales, which were postponed, will be commenced on 16th April. M"lieat : The market is a- shade weaker in anticipation of heavy arrivals. Mutton and lamb: The River Plate shipments received during February, 1912, were: London, mutton 71.794 carcases, lamb 23,184 carcases; Liverpool, 156,112 and 43,087 ; Hull, 6128 and 1152 ; Newcastle, 12,633 and 1640: Southampton, 12,423 •and 12,401 ; Cardiff, 8361 and 500; Plymouth, 118 and 620; Ireland, 3862 and 60; totals. 272,436 and 87,644. February, 1911, 294,873 and 55,747. LONDON WOOL SALES. (Received .March 11, 10.25 p.m.) LONDON, March 11. The colonial wool merchants have fixed the second series for April 11. The limit will .be 250,000 bales. - The third series will be held on June 11th, and the limit will be decided later. Consideration of dates and quantities -for the fourth, fifth and sixth serJes was deferred.
