EST ATE OF EDWIN EH NEST MITCHELL.

The creditors in the estate of Edwin Ernest Mitchell, cabinetmaker, of Gisborne, met in the office of the Deputy Official Assignee, Air Coleman, yosterdav afternoon. , The Assignee explained that the tormer meeting bad been .adjourned in order to permit of an inspection of the stock being made by Messrs Ah’Alihan and Hookey. Air Hookey had not yet returned to Gi-borne. Air ALcAiillan stated that lie had looked tliorciurlilv tluougli the stock and he was of the opinion that they should not accept anything less than 10s or 12s 6d in the £■ The .Assignee intimated that tiiere bad been one or two inquiries conceynin<r the Stock, blit he suggested that it well Id perhaps be better left to Air AlcAlilian and himself to dispose of me stock. • Air li. Kane appeared for the bankrupt and produced a statement made h\ the latter correcting certain statements regarding dates which he had made in giving his evidence. The statement- was as to!lows:"Payne and Alitc-hell first, opened the shop in February, 1910. Payne lcit after two months, and there were no debts owing by the firm. AA lien Payne left Alitehell 'continued the business alone from Alarc.li 19th to August 3rd. 1910. On the latter date Brown uas taken into partnership. The firm at this time owed nothing. Brown left the firm on September 22nd, 1911, and he took £6O out of the firm, of which amount he had originally paid in £45. The firm was then indebted for. a sum upwards of £IOO. About a fortnignt alter Brown left Alitehell wrote to- or interviewed Paine, Archibald Clark and Sargood. Son and Eweii, telling them of the dissolution of partnership and asking for forbearance. Neal came in as an employee to the firm,on November 17, 1910, Alitehell then being a partner, and paid £25 to entitle him toshare the profits. Neal withdrew with Brown on' the 22nd September, 1911, taking out £40.” The creditors agreed to leave the disposal of the stack in the hands of the Official Assignee.
