THE FERRY SERVICE.
(to the edttok .) Sir. —To show you how useful the ferrv service will bo in the near future with regard to correspondence, take this: The Aorangi arrived in Wellington at 2.15 a.m. to-day with English mails of 30th February via ’Fnsco. 1 hose would probably he sorted by the night staff and sent forward to’ Napier bv express early this morning. Result: Unless Messrs Richardson have a steamer leaving there to-night or even oil Monday, Gisboine commercial houses will not receive perhaps very important letters until Wed_ nesday morning next, which is a great pitv. ' Mails should never he delayed. I notice that the Rum leaves Napier at 4 p.m. to-day. Pitv the JNapior Post Office could not have put her off for train mail. —I am, etc.. C. COWL AND. Gisborne, March. 30.
