It was a cold, ’dry Easter, and owing to the dislocation of the trains the majority of the Londoners stayed in town. There were severe gales in the north and children on holiday were killed by falling walls at Manchester and Glasgow. THE TRIPOLITAN WAR. (Received April 9, 11.15 p.m) CAIRO, April 9. Edhem Pasha has arrived wounded. He hopes to return to Tripoli shortly. In the meanwhile Nazini Bey is commanding. Edhem Pasha states that 200,000 Arabs were assisting the 10,000 Turks. The Arabs fired with implacable revenge against- the Italians and consequently there were few prisoners. The Italian position at Tobruk was difficult owing to the poisoning of the artesian wells. SMALLPOX CASE ON THE MALWA. (Received Auril 10, 12.45 a.m.) FREMANTLE, April 9. An Australian officer returning -from India by the Malwa after gaining experience has been found to be suffering from smallpox. The necessary precautions have been taken.
