WHAT IS WANTED.
(to the editor.) Sir, —There is room for a 'really live, independent, .and new councillor at the present juncture. If one studies the council as a whole one finds that it may he divided-into uvo parties. Ido not say t-iiaT one party contains all the halters and the other all the workers." What I say is that there is a Liberal party and a Conservative party. Now it must not be thought that I mean a Liberal and Conservative party in the political sense. . The Liberals, to my mind, are those who make a point of deavouring to discuss a subject whilst on the other hand those who come under the definition of Conservative appear to have little to say about tiie matter, but rumor hath it that the trouble is that they discuss the matter outside. Anyone can see which way a straw blows. What is wanted, as I said before, is an-independent who knows what two and two make, and is not afraid, of gaining the illwill either of his fellow townspeople or fellow workers. —I am, etc., “ ANTI-LOGROLLER. ’ ’
