The principal moving picture proprietors of Auldand were desirous of increasing the Titanic relief fund by donating the proceeds of suitable entertainments proposed to be held on Sunday evening after church, but the chairman of the Auckland Ministers 7 Association waited on the Mayor and entered a protest gainst the entertainment. The matter was referred to the Works Committee of the City Council and permission was given to hold the entertainments on Sunday afternoon. The applicants do not sec their way to do this and the matter lias dropped.
