A HAMILTON RESOLUTION. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HAMILTON. May 14. The local school -committee last night passed the following resolution: “That the committee, while . appreciating very highly the excellent work by some of the many teachers and schools throughout the Dominion, regrets that the results generally attained arc, not such as adequately equip the boys and girls for tlie battle of life. The syllabus is so over-crowded that some essential branches of education are not given attention, with the result that arithmetic, writing and reading are far from satisfactory.” Reference was also made to the relationship of the education boards to committees. The way in which boards disregarded committees was resented.
