MEDAL MATCH. Ideal weather prevailed on Saturday afternoon, when si medal match filled the bill at the Poverty Bay Golf Club’s links- There was a large entry, and play on the whole showed improvement. E. Adair, a handicap 12 man, carried off the honors. _ He went round in 95, which gave him a net score of 83. This player Ims been showing consistent form of late. There was a large number of lady players present during the afternoon, and tea was kindly dispensed by Mesdames IV. B. W Block and Mann. H. Balneavis, the well-known Wellington plaver. who is private secretary to Hon. W. D. S. MacDonald put in some good rounds on the local links last week. -Not once was he out of the SO’s in the half-dozen full rounds lie played, and a couple of brilliant 84’s went down to his credit. Balneavis returned south by the steamer last night.
