CUNARDER ABLAZE

VERY SERIOUS DAMAGE

(Received June 3, 9.20 p.m.) LONDON, June 3. An outbreak of fire on the Cunarder Carmanian. which is in dock at Liverpool, is believed to have commenced in the coal bunkers. The vessel is gravely imperilled. Despite a rumor that there were 1000 barrels of oil aboard, the firemen and police fearlessly used- the hoses. The water caused a heavy list'. The fire burnt for three hours, and the upper decks were completely wrecked and the saloons destroyed.
