Speaking at the Lyceum recently, Professor David referred to tho Titanic disaster, and showed some photographs and designs of icebergs, which conveyed a vivid idea of the monster on which the liner was wrecked. “I do not intend, in any way to criticise the actions of the captain or officers,’’ he said, “but it seems to me that there must have been at least a possible chance •ot saving some of the passengers for whom there was no room in the boats by landing them on the berg itself. In view of the fact that the cables have announced that certain flotsam anti jetsam of the Titanic were actually seen on a berg it certainly seems possible, and it would have been the more advisable since the berg was among the trade routes, where other vessels were in close vicinity.”
