THE TURF’S MORALTY
A PAPER’S OPINION
[UNITED PRFSS. ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT]
(Received June 12, 9.20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, June 12. Tho Metropolitan newspaper declares that the turf was never more prosperous, and yet it is doubtful if the moral aspect was ever at a lower ebb. Maybe there is no jockeys’ ring, but cliques of riders in collusion with each other are suspected. Occasionally owners are taken down by them.
