PHILLIPS’ BENEFIT FUND.
A SUM GF £155 17s RAISED
meeting of.the committee of the Phillips Benefit Fund was held at the Cosmopolitan - Chib 'on Wednesday evening, there being present Messrs F • Webb, T. Holdsworth, F. Hall jun., and F. J. Daniell, hon secretary. The secretary reported that the netproceeds from the performance of ‘'Sons of the Sea,” by the Rice Dramatic Company at His Majesty’s Theatre, had amounted to £6B IDs Bd. This brought the total amount of cash received for the fund uo to £167 10s. Expenses totalled sll 13s, leaving £155 17s to be handed over to the bencficiare.
It- was decided to give Mrs Phillips a contribution from the fund of £2O, and to pay over 25s a week until the balance has been expended. Messrs W. Webb and F. J. Daniell were appointed trustees for the fund. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Holdsworth for the successful manner in which he worked up the benefit performance put on by the Rice Dramatic Company. Mr Daniell was also thanked for the able manner in which lie had carried out the secretarial duties.
