Co’s steamer Tarawera made the usual call at Gisborne on Saturday on her way north. The S. S. Haupiri, for the first time since lrer unfortunate mishap, arrived from Napier on Saturday, and sailed for the north at 2 p.m. Her cargo consisted of 83 sacks malt, 552 of chaff. 60 of potatoes, 5 of peas, and 10 of barley. The small steamer Kiritona bromC a load of gravel from Napier on Pahyday, and leaves for- Tokomaru tc-day to lighter the Kaitangata. The collier Kaitangata has met with
choppy weather in the Bay, but it is anticipated that she will be able to leave for Tokomaru this evening. The U.S.S: Co’s steamer Navua, which is running in place of the Monowai, left Auckland at 5 p.m. on Saturday. She called at Tokomaru Bay, and arrived in the harbor at 5.30 o’clock last evening. She was tendered by the Tuatea and sailed for the south at 10 p.m. -The s.s. Tarawera reached Auckland yesterday afternoon from Gisborne and starts on the return journey,'via Tploga Bay, to-day. The s.s. Whangape is expected to load coal at Newcastle, after July 1, for Gisborne and Tokomaru. The s.s. Ivowhai leaves Greymouth for Dunedin to-day, and is expected to leave Dunedin about Saturday next, via the usual ports. The U.S.S. Co’s steamer Mokoia, which was delayed here by bad weather last Sunday, was a day late on leaving Dunedin, and instead of sailing on Friday, left on Saturday. In the meantime, it has been announced that one launch will leave the wharf at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, but in all probability it will be later. The Star of Canada is to leave Bluff on Saturday for Lyttelton, Gisborne, Napier, Wanganui roadstead and Wellington. She is expected to sail from Wellington on July 3 for London via Las Palmas, and is due here on June 20. • ■ An interesting development has taken place in connection with the present visit of the Tyser liner Tomoana to New Zealand. She is to be placed in the Port Chalmers dock this week to be sighted with a possibility of the vessel passing over to new owners. TELEGRAPHIC, AUCKLAND. June 16.—Arrived at 12.25 p.m..
