A SPORTS GRIEVANCE.
(to the editor.)
Sir,—-Will you kindly allow me a little space in your valuable paper to air a grievance? At the last Te Karaka Sports Club’s meeting they advertised a special gold medal for a points prize. This medal I won, and although it is now over two months since the meeting took place I have not received it. I have written to the club and have not received any satisfaction from it. It seems to me that people like to get their names advertised as donors of medals, etc., at these meetings, hut when the prize is won they conveniently forget to “part out.” They seem to forgtft that athletes have to train hard and part out good silver for nominations for prizes which—after they have won them—they never receive. Trusting that this letter will stir the Te Karaka club up a little, and thanking you in anticipation, I am, etc., A. E. DAVY'. Gisborne, June 15.
