ENTERTAINMENTS.

PATHE PICTURES. For all-round excellence it would be hard to surpass the new series of films presented at His Majesty’s Theatre by -the Pathe Picture Company last- night. There was a large audience present, and the hearty applause that followed each film proved that the entertainment was genuinely appreciated. The principal attraction, a fine drama by the Vitagraph Co., entitled “One Touch of Nature,” was particularly admired. The story deals with the quarrel of old friends over the marriage of their respective son and daughter, religious differences being the bone of contention. Years go by and the old men round the cradle of the olive branch of the union, forget their resentment, and peace and goodwill once more reign. The acting throughout is very fine, and the story is presented in a refreshingly natural manner. “The Moonstone,” a splendid adaptation of Wilkie Collins’ wellknown story, makes a .fine dramatic subject. The story of the theft of the sacred diamond from the idol in India and its tragic course through England, until restored by the Hindus who follow relentlessly on its track, is a most fascinating one, and it was followed with the keenest interest last, night. “The Luck of Reckless Reddy” is a beautifully-acted drama, containing a lot of rare humor, while “A -Strike Leader” strikes a more tragic note. “A Poor Excuse That- Worked” is a capital comedy. “Agriculture by Motor” gives a fine contrast between early and modem methods of tilling the soil while “Humors of Animal Life” is a most interesting natural history subject, which shows the antics of -many kinds of birds and animals. Tho other picture's can be recommended. This entertaining series will be repeated to-night, and ia change will be put on to-morrow evening.

ROLLER SKATING. Considering the short notice patrons of the Garrison Hall rink received the attendance last night was very satisfactory. The floor was in good condition for skafing and the rink band in attendance played appropriate music. The rink will be open this afternoon, and patrons are assured of a good afternoon.’s sport. BAPTIST CHURCH CONCERT. A concert will be given in the Baptist Church this evening, when an attractive programme of songs, recitations, quartettes, and instrumental items will lie submitted.
