SYDNEY, Juno 23. The Northern League game, New* Zealand v. New South Wales, resulted in the defeat of the former by 28 points to 8. There was- an attendance of 28,000. ' Following Avere the teams:-—-

Pearce, Sullivan, Ca.nn The first spell was characterised by even play, but as the New Zealanders landed after midnight and had a rough trip, the Welshmen’s superior condition told in the finish. New South Wales kicked off and pressed matters. A passing rush by Courtney, Messenger, and Gilbert'ensued, and the 'latter scored, but the goal was not converted." New South Wales 3, New Zealand 0.
