THE DOMINION’S EXPORTS.
A BIG INCREASE. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, June 23. The exports of tlie Dominion for the first half of this month show a big increase over those of the corresponding period of last year. This year’s figures are £713,019, and last year’s figures £403,181. The effect of the late season on the volume of production is even more strikingly shown in the figures for the year ending on the loth inst. and those for the corresponding preceding 12 months: Exports for the year ending June 15, 1912 ... £19,004,771 Exports for the year ending June 15, 1911' ...£18,903,912 Increase for. this season £100,859 It is a truer index of the volume of tlie year’s exports to' take the year as ending in September. For instance, the exports for the year ending on March 31 of this and last year show the exports of this season to De at a considerable disadvantage: Exports for year ending March 31, 1912 ... ... £19,036,666 Year ending March 31, 1911 ..£21,543,900 A decline.of ... £2,507,240 Whereas this season has* actually been more prolific than the previous one.
