SERIOUS ATTACK ON AUCKLAND STATIONER.

[PEE PfIESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, June 26. Mr A- J. Roberts, stationer, at Epsom, when leaving his shop last night was murderously assaulted by a man who presumably intended to rifle -the premises. Mr Roberts was struct over' the head with, a heavy piece of timber. The wound is serious. If it had been two inches lower it would have been fatal.
