MURDER
[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT] SYDNEY, July 16. A deserter from the warship Drake was recaptured and sentenced to a. term of detention. He was handed over to the Naval authorities. He made a statement that he and another man were concerned in the murder of Leon Beiron at Clapham Common on January 1, 1911, and that Morrison, undergoing sentence for the crime, is not guilty. The authorities attach little importance to the confession. ... They consider that the man iis seeking cheap notoriety. The man was serving in the Home fleet- at the time of the tragedy.
