In the recent examination for State registration of nurses, V. Butler, of Gisborne, was successful in passing (says a Wellington P.A. telegram.)
Chief Detective Alarsack lias been appointed sub-inspector at Palmerston North. Detective-sergeant _ AlacAlahon has been appointed chief detective.—Auckland P.A- wire. A Svdnev cable states that the New Zealand footballers are passengers by the Wimmera.
A notice in the “Gazette” states that the King lias approved the retention of the title of “Honorable” bv Sir James Carroll, K.C.M.G., Mr. J. A. Millar, Air. Roderick McKenzie, Air. David Buddo, and Air. Apirana Turapa Ngata, all of whom have served for more than three years as members of the Executive Council of the Dominion of New Zealand.
