The following are the readings of the oarometor in our office, taken at 2 a.m. each day:—
GOVERNMENT SVSETEOROLO GIST’S REPORT.
The storm area which lias now passed to the eastward lias not been remarkable for a low glass or the steepness of its gradients, but for its duration and the intensity and capriciousness of tire weather experienced. Conditions are still gloomy and cold with decreasing southerly winds. The barometer has risen, especially in the north. Present indications are for fair to cloudy weather, with showers in parts and breezes generally, moderate and variable decreasing southerlies, and probably giving way shortly to freshening easterly and northerly breezes.
The barometer will probably rise slowly in the north, and will fall in the south after from 24 to 36 hours.
