Mrs J. R. Ivirk left for the South on Sunday on a fortnight’s holiday.
An engagement of local interest is that of Mr Arthur To w nicy to Nurse Rush.
Mr and Mrs Frank Barker and their daughter Audrey returned from Christchurch last Saturday, after having keen away about six months.
Mrs Henderson gave a most delightful small dance at her residence, Childers Road, on Tuesday night. Dancing took place on the wide verandah. Amongst those present were Mesdames Field, Winter, Agnew-Brown, H;ne, Gully and Jcx-Blake, and Misses Evans, Falkner, Davies, Williams, do Latour, Nolan, Bennett, Rees and Hine.
Mr and Mrs W. R. Barker have been lor a short visit- to A\ ellington. A ladies golf match was to have been played at the links hist Tuesday, but owing to the wet weather had to bo postponed until Friday. There were a great number of people at the golf links last Saturday, when a most delightful afternoon tea was dispensed by Mesdames Bull and Cole.
