VERY SERIOUS REPORTS. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT] (Received July 23. 12.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 22, The Japanese Consulate has'received a cable stating that the Mikado has suffered from diabetes since 1904, and on the 14th instant enteric fever supervened, and he lapsed into a semicoimatosc state on the following day. On the 19th he became delirious and a high fever set in. A PROFOUND SENSATION. (Received July 23, 12.2(1 a.m.) TOKIO, July 22The Mikado’s illness has caused a profound sensation. The theatres are closed and all traffic around the palace has been stopped. A bulletin issued at midnight stated there was a slight improvement. NEGOTIATIONS WITH RUSSIA INTERRUPTED.
(Received July 23, 12.20 a.m.) ST. PETERSBURG. July 22. In consequence of the Mikado’s condition .Prince Katsura’s mission! has been postponed, and ho returns to Japan forthwith.
