MEETING AT AYAXGANUT
[PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.J AY AX GANTT, July 23. A meeting of delegates of the New Zealand Federation of AYaterside Workers was lield in Wanganui to-day to consider steps . for strengthening the Federation. There were . present: Messrs Burrow and McCarthy (representatives of Napier and Gishorne), Hayward (Bluff). Smith (AY.anganui), and also the following members of the Executive: Messrs Seal. Callaghan. Dounmdl, White, Alandeno, and G. AlcTlio secretary’s report regretted that out of 12 unions a year ago only 4 (Napier. Bluff, Gishorne and AA anrraiiui) now remained loyal to the Federation, the rest having gone over to the Federation of Labor. Mr .T. Reed (president of the A.Z.AA’.AY.F.) wrote from Lyttelton regretting the turn events had taken and expressing the opinion that the f ederation of Labor was _ making .but little progress in the right direction, only dividing the House against itself.
