The following are the readings of the vioromoter in our office, “taken at 2 4 in. each day:—
GOVERNMENT METEOROLOGIST’S REPORT. [rER. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, July 25, The stormy weather continued about Cook Strait/ but moderated somewhat to-day. Raw, unsettled and showery weather prevailed, especially on the East Coast. Strong easterly winds have predominated. The anticyclone extends into high latitudes, for 30.31 has been reported on Wednesday at McQuarrie Island, when 30.70 was read at Oamaru, and the gradient has been and is still very steep to the north-westward. Present indications are for easterly to south-easterly winds, probably increasing again to strong and to a gale. Generally unsettled and cloudy weather with rain is probable generally, and more-snow shortly on the higher levels and in the south. The barometer is due to fall everywhere, particularly in the north.
